Description
Grows on tall stalks that support the earsrows of kernels on a woody cob tightly encased in green husks, topped with a tuft of pale yellow “silk.” Cultivated since 3500 B.C. Yellow corn has large, full-flavored kernels. White corn has smaller, sweeter kernels. Corn is used cooked.
